FFXIV A Realm Reborn Quest Guide

If you’ve come here to look for a guide on quests: I’m currently working on a massive revamp of the page that will include a lot more details. In the meantime, I can wholeheartedly endorse this guide that does a kick-ass job at explaining quests. It also includes a pretty great leveling guide (full review available here).

Quests in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, are handled nicely. There’s plenty of NPC’s that will offer you quests. They’re easy to spot with a giant exclamation mark above their heads. All you have to do is run up to them, and initiate a conversation. A lot of them may need some ingredient, which can only be obtained by killing something, that is running rampant in the fields of Eorzea. Luckily, once you have accepted the quest, your current task will be visible in your duty list, which is located to the right, on the main screen. If by some chance you get side tracked, and need to go back and find out what the task was again, no problem, just select the title of the quest in your list, and the journal entry will pop up showing you the objectives, and even what the rewards for completing the task shall be. Whether the quest is to find a misplaced item, or even to kill some creature, and obtain some rare ingredient from its remains, the obtaining rewards for such quests, is the same. All you have to do is return to the NPC that offered you the quest in the first place. Talk to them, at which point the mission will be completed, and you will be rewarded accordingly. At first, these quests will be easy. But as you gain the favor of the inhabitants of Eorzea, the quests they offer you, shall become exceedingly more difficult, and in turn, the rewards exceedingly cooler. The deferent types of quests are as follows:

Main Quests
Side Quests
Class and job Quests

The exact number of quests is hard to say, seeing as how the game is still in the beta test fazes, but I assure you it is nearing completion, and soon enough, we will all be questing together.
